Department of Commerce commenced in the academic year 2013-14 along with the inauguration of the newly allotted college., with an intake of 40 UG students, marginally increased from time to time. The department offers Finance as the main option to Commerce discipline. Over the years, the department has bagged 2 university ranks along with several distinctions and first classes. We have been able to maintain a pass percentage of above 90% consistently since the commencement of the department. The department has conducted national seminars and international webinars covering diverse, contemporary topics in Commerce and Management. As mandated by the Syllabus, the department has organized several Industrial Visits to prominent industries spread across South India there by giving industrial exposure. The department has also contributed to social cause by conducting awareness classes on sustainable development and green marketing, covering entrepreneurs, merchants and the general public. The department has trained students in online Income Tax return filing, thereby enabling students to earn while they learn.
