
UG Admission Procedure
Eligibility for Admission & Indexing for Ranking

Those candidates who are “Eligible for Higher Studies” as per the Higher SecondaryExamination, Kerala or a pass in the equivalent examinations is the minimum criteria for admission to degree courses, unless otherwise specified. (U.O.No 2393/2015/Admn Dated:10.03.2015).

The Afsal-Ul-Ulama preliminary course is declared equivalent to the Plus Two Humanities Group. Therefore, all candidates passed Afsal -Ul-Ulama preliminary are eligible foradmissions Humanities and Commerce programmes. (GO (rt).no.2165/2014H.Edn Dated: 03.06.2014).

The candidates who have qualified the HSE and VHSE of the Government of Kerala under ‘SAY’scheme and Compartmental Examination of CBSE are also eligible for admission tofirst year degree courses in the same academic year. (U.O. No. GA I /A2/ 5753/2000 dated 14.05.2004 ).​

Bachelor of Theatre Arts/BA Music, Vocal, Veena/Mridangam/Violin : For admission tothe Bachelor of Theatre Arts/BA Music, Vocal, Veena/Mridangam/Violin programmes the students should compulsorily register through the CAP. The selection will be purely based on the interview and aptitude test conducted directly by the college/centre conducting the programme. The list of the registered candidates will be provided to the colleges and the Principals will conduct interview and aptitude test.

The candidates possessing certificate with “Eligible for Higher Studies” issued by the KeralaState Literacy Mission Authority are also eligible for Humanities and Commerce programmes. (U.O No. 408/2019/Admn Dated: 11.01.2019).

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu (Private study)shall not be admitted to any course under this University. (U.O.No.GAI/A1/5062/2002 dated 07.07.2005).

The physically and visually challenged candidates are not eligible for admission to Geology course. The visually challenged candidates are not eligible for admission to Science subjects(involving practical) except BCA, BSc IT and BSc Computer Science.

B. Com Finance
​
Eligibility : Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto with at least one commerce subject are eligible for admissions to the B.Com degree course. Candidates who have not studied commerce subject for Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination not less than 45% marks are also eligible. A concession of 5% will be given to OBC/OEC candidates. The SC/ST candidates need get only a pass. (U.O. No.GAI/A2/1658/2007 dated 28.02.2008).
Index Mark : Total marks + 25 marks for each commerce papers subject to maximum of 50 marks.

BA English Language and Literature
​
Eligibility : Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies)the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission.
Index Mark : Total Marks + Twice the marks secured in English. A weightage of 20 marks will be given to those who have studies English, Functional English and Communicative English as optionalsubject for HSE or equivalent examination.
B.Sc. Mathematics​
Eligibility : Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to with Mathematics group only are eligible for admission to Bsc Mathematics.
Index Mark : Total marks obtained for Part III + the marks obtained for the Mathematics for BSc Mathematics.

Trial Allotment
After the closing date for online registration a trial allotment will be publishedon the scheduled date. After the trial allotment the candidates can rearrange the priority of their options
​
Special Allotment
After third allotment two special allotments for SC/ST will be conducted on the scheduled date.Vacancy position in SC/ST in forward community
​
Permanent Admissions
The candidates receiving allotments for the first options and those candidates are satisfied with the allotment received in any of the allotments can take permanent admissions to the respective colleges.

Temporary Admissions
After second allotment all candidates who have received allotment but not satisfied with their current allotment and willing to be considered for higher option shall take Temporary Admission. These, candidates will be considered for their higher options. The candidates taking temporary admissions need not remit any fee or submit any certificates tothe college.
​
Admit Card
Admit card will be available for all candidates received allotment and intending to take permanent admission. There will be “no” admit card for temporary admission.
Change of mark
The change in marks after the closing date of online registration, on account of revaluation, improvement etc, will be considered only after the third allotment. To effect such change in marks,scan and mail the new mark sheet to University through Nodal Centers

Mandatory fee
​
The Candidates Admitted Other Than Through Allotment Should Also Compulsorily Remit Mandatory Fee.

(The SC/ST/ OEC-SC/OEC-ST/COMMUNITIES ELIGIBLE FOR Additional weightage given for Scheduled Tribe students of Palakkad and Wayanad districts (applicable only for UG).
​
Additional weightage will be awarded to the Scheduled Tribe Students hailing from the tribal belt of Palakkad and Wayanad district for admission to UG programmes without entrance. If the residential area submitted belongs to tribal belt, such students will be awarded 20 marks of additional weightage
